D0713 T2219 Y2008Planet Halo

When was the last time you visited Haloramics? Ever since our last update, TT L Burritoh has been hard at work bending the lens through which we see the battlefields that host our imagined war.

Below are some preview files for a new “Planetoid” series of images. Aren’t they just surreal? It makes perfect sense. We spend so much time on these maps, they do seem to become worlds unto themselves – places more real than those in your dreams.

We know what you are thinking: Something along the lines of “OMG I want that as my new wallpaper!” To access the Hi-Res, just visit Burritoh at his home away from the TTL webring. Mouse-over the expanded view of each image to reveal the menu and select “Original” for the raw files.

Caution. The original files are BIG. Some of these creations are the product of over 30 screenshots…

If you are a savvy designer who is thinking “I would like to see how my favorite map looks as its own planetoid”, we have updated the Tutorial page at Haloramics with a full debriefing on how these images were made.

All this, and more, is available at Haloramics. Enjoy!

As always, watch this space for updates.

Halotastic! I wish this were easier to do on more levels, but which ones would turn out this great? Avalanche would be nice, but it doesn’t seem like it would work :(
