And on the Seventh Day, the TTL Gunslingers – much as they do on any other day – entered the virtual cage match hosted in Halo 3 via XBox Live.
And on that day, The Maker had left us a sign.

A sense of awe hushed over our raiding party. Pretended hostilities ceased, as the digital warriors assumed a penitant stance before their totem. They engaged in an homage to petition this talisman for wisdom and guidance.
“Can we has Recon?” asked one.
“Why do I always miss with the Sp’Laser when it would count the most?” cried another.
“Will my rank ever crest the wings of the Brigadier?” whispered yet another…
But no sign would come.
Then, the final act of Hubris was laid at the feet of the ominous marker left by The Makers on their day of days.

We asked it what that was. We asked for a sign that would explain the mystery surrounding the Seventh Day. We pleaded for a vision into our future as citizens of a world dominated by the wielders of the code.

Suddenly, the idol became angry. The sound of thumder laced the skies over Valhalla. The reek of burnt tungsten soiled the air.

We were sent hurling through space and time by a hammer strike from the Gods. Our questions would go unanswered this respawn cycle. For now, for the Gunslingers and all of their opponents, there would be no answers. For now, there was only the game and the playing of it well.

Go Bungie!
Thank you Bungie. Thank you.
You say true, and I say thankee.
That was Bungie that blew me up?
Damn, I thought it was Sandman.
Sadly, I didn’t get to play Halo on Bungie Day. It makes me kind of sad.
Thanks for the game, Bungie!
Thank you Bungie for an awesome game and for opening the door to a huge gaming world that I have been blessed with acquiring many dear friends. More than a game to me. My Halo family is precious to me.
Somehow, I always visualize the red and blue guys that Sarge and Caboose stumble across in the first (or is it the second?) season of RvB. High-pitched voices of the acolytes. Cracks me up every time. Deej, were you channeling RvB when you wrote this? ;-)
