Well it is Friday again which means another interview with and awesome person from the gaming industry. This week I talk with Ellie Gibson, the Editor of GamesIndustry.biz. It is chock full of information on what is going on in the industry. Below are Ellie’s great responses to the questions.

- What is Your Gaming Alias:
That would be telling – it’s an alias, after all!
- What Are You Better at Than Anyone You Know:
Sticking my tongue up my nose. Though I’m sure I’d find people who are better at it me if I just looked hard enough on YouTube…
- Little Known Fact:
Sharks have no bones.
- Closest You Have Come to Death:
Mexican jungle fire. Summer ‘99. Can’t say any more for legal and political reasons.
- What Age Did You Start Gaming:
I can’t remember exactly, though I think it started with Thundercats and Buggy Boy on the Amiga…
- Who Would You Say is Responsible for Getting You Into Gaming:
Whoever made Thundercats and Buggy Boy for the Amiga.
- Game That Was the Biggest Let Down:
Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness. Thank goodness Legend was better.
- First Game That Had You Hooked:
Probably Thundercats, though I remember it being impossibly hard. But then most games were when you were eight and it was the eighties.
- Most Radical Change in Gaming in the Past Year:
The Wii’s certainly had an impact – the biggest change I’ve noticed is that more of my female friends are actually interested in games now, as cliched as that may be…
- Game You Are Looking Forward to the Most:
The next Tomb Raider.
- Favorite Ending For a Game, Movie or Book:
When someone dies.
- What is Your Drink or Snack of Choice While Gaming:
Vodka. Or, if it’s a school night, Lucozade. And maybe a little bit of vodka.
- Favorite Arcade Game:
Jambo Safari. An absolute classic involving capturing wild animals and stealing them away from their natural habitats. I have long awaited the console port.
- Last Gadget Purchased:
An Archos Gmini 400. Like an iPod, but not rubbish.
- The Worst or Most Frustrating Moment You’ve Had Gaming:
My “best friend” once pushed me off a chair during a particularly heated game of Worms 2, which I was of course winning. It was quite painful so that was probably my worst moment, although I was comforted by the fact that it was probably his most frustrating.
- If You Were to Make a Documentary, What Would it Be About:
Why they haven’t made a console port of Jambo Safari. I’m sure there’s some kind of conspiracy involved, probably to do with the CIA.
- Ideal Game That Has Not Yet Been Created:
Jambo Safari 2: Hooooo – like the original, but instead of leopards you have to capture Thundercats.
- Favorite Movie Quote:
“Your ego’s writing cheques your body can’t cash.” Except I think it’s “checks” in American.
- Most Exciting Gaming Experience:
I once saw Winston Zeddmore waiting by the baggage carousel in LA airport at 1am. It was whilst on a gaming press trip, does that count?
- What is Your Favorite Part of Your Job:
The free stuff.
- What Movie Inspired Game Would You Love to See:
A GTA-style third person driving/shooting action adventure with a gritty urban feel based on Police Academy 5: Assignment Miami Beach.
- What Message Would You Send to Gamers Everywhere:
Visit GamesIndustry.biz for all your games industry-related needs!
