D0204 T1544 Y2007SBG Omega

Hello readers. I hope you are all alive and thawed out. I am not far from joining a superhero team, because at this point I think I am more ice than anything else. With another week comes another great clan. This week proves no different as I take a look at SBG Omega. Recently the Gunslingers met fists with SBG and had some awesome games. We found, as others have in the past, how much of a delight it is to play them. To get a little more information about the clan I chatted with Namloco, one of their overlords. Here is what he had to say.

  • How and when did your clan start up?

Well it all started around Mid-September of ‘06. Redeemed SBG was a former member of christian based group known as Lamb clan, but had some radical and new idea’s for starting a fresh new top quality gaming clan. I on the other hand was Overlord of my own respectable small member personal friend based clan known as 3pm Clan. On a cold snowy night on the hard concrete of Lockout A member of 3pm and myself despite our skill found ourselves being pwn’ed by an overwhelming force known today to us as the guy’s from SBG! Through repeated melee’s and snipes to the face the match quickly ended giving the boy’s from SBG the profound win and my partner and I a lot of wounds to lick! Going into the dreaded blue and red screen of defeat, I was surely expecting an onslaught of slams sprinkled with the occasional “you suck” topping. But to my amazement the warriors from SBG quickly and respectfully said good game and held out the gladiators gauntlet of friendship. After a few short weeks of shared bloodshed and victories on the Maps of Halo, Redeemed SBG came to me with his dream and from there it has been nothing short of heaven. The SBG Spartan asked me to help him Co-lead his new group of warriors into battle merged with mine, helping create an atmosphere of gaming parallel to no other on line in the ways of our beliefs systems, honor and respect credo. Thus SBG OMEGA was born.

  • What meaning does your clan’s name hold?

SBG has and will always mean “Saved by Grace” This was instilled long before my arrival, but I will represent and uphold that meaning throughout my time as a member of SBG Omega and will most definitely live that motto in my non-virtual life as a christian. Saved by his Grace was started from members of Lamb clan and has been passed on to us as a tool to represent who we are and how we live our lives and represent it through online gaming. Though every member in our group may not be christian all respect and honor our morals and integrity and share our passion for clean mouths and sportsmanship in the mist of every battle no matter how fierce or competitive. As for the OMEGA part of our name, maybe you heard of the verse “I am the Alpha and Omega” I think that represents who we are well on the maps, we are the Omega, “the end” we will finish the fight no matter what the outcome!

  • How many people call your clan home?

We are currently topping off around a Hundred strong and are in early stages of creating and laying ground work for our new division ALPHA SBG. It’s been a lot of hard grunt work to get that kind of brotherhood going in just under 4 months of existence! But our blood sweat and tears and occasional inner clan teabags have produced something great, Which we really feel members enjoy and will forever show their unwavering loyalty too.

  • How do you go about luring and screening recruits?

We as a clan have decided upon and voted through certain guidelines and clan laws in order to uphold our high standard’s. We try to have recruiting nights where clan members play matchmaking in multiple size groups and seek out like minded players who are tired of being tormented by the average meat head abuser online. Gamers are tired of being verbally assaulted and we give those gamers an outlet of hope. Other then that we try to stay active in community tourneys and be as visible as possible in the HALO Universe.

  • What are some unique bylaws that your clan enforces?

Definitely the top one on the list would be our stanch “No CURSING” rule! Sad to say but this alone sets us apart by miles in the online community which as we all can attest is infested with verbal vulgarity. After that would be the unwritten rule of brotherhood respect. We fight many battles online in the maps of Halo together but also fight many battles in our personal lives as well. The ability to know and show respect between fellow clansman is a must with us! We’re a team true and through. If one of us needs help in one of life’s many battles or just a person to listen, our respect for each other builds bonds; bonds that can’t be broken bar distance or face to face conversation. So needless to say we are there for our brother Spartans always and can’t stress enough our unwritten rule of respect.

  • What do you do to build camaraderie in your ranks?

Besides friendly inner clan skirmishes and daily posting wars on our forum. We try to make an effort to constantly touch base with our members individually not only with Halo related topics but personal ones too! Sometimes it makes all the difference when you ask a brother clansmen on how his day went. It seems the small things count to people and with that small touch of humanity by lending your ear, builds camaraderie that will last a life time.

  • What is the best way to get booted from your clan?

“Unsportsmanlike conduct 100 yard penalty!” Besides breaking our verbal abuse policy, the quickest way to get the SBG size 12, would be to cheat! With out a doubt cheating has got to be the most frustrating issue on Halo 2! We in Omega do not condone and will not stand for any unskilled dumbbell who has to cheat to win. They are a disgrace to the game and should be shaken with the force of ten mister chiefs until they are a steaming pile of drool…to put it lightly! LoL

  • What game types does your clan prefer?

We are most definitely a Slayer clan. We love endless showers of smg’s,grenades and the occasional body falling in front of us. Though we love skirmish, and Lord knows we try, we are Spartans in wheelchairs when it comes too them! We might as well be lacing our shoe’s with our Tongue’s. Heh, But we usually get by with our slayer abilities and suppression. If that don’t work, well.. there’s always Texas Hold’em!

  • What is your poison/passion: Matchmaking? Customs? Challenges? MLG?

I love BTB Slayer followed closely by Snipers and hardcore. As for Customs, for me there OK once in awhile but just like too much apple cider I feel like chucking if I have to much! In the realm of challenges against clans, I have to say I enjoy getting to know gamers that take this game we love seriously as much as I do..Cough[TTL]cough That way I don’t feel like a huge Nerd in a Spartan suit all by myself!LoL

  • What is the closest game your clan has had in a Clan Challenge?

As of recent? The holders of that honor goes to TTL hands down! I think I lost some years and some hairs in that match! Your men are very skilled and great people to boot. Thanks so much for your hand of friendship.
