One year ago, on this day, ‘Tied the Leader’ needed a new a posse. Our previous efforts to create a gaming community out of the readership of this blog had been met with mediocrity at best. A more fervent call to arms was issued, and the Gunslingers were born. The rest is history.
365 days of simulated violence later, we arrive at the advent of our first anniversary. We all say thankya. Uncountable numbers of spent shell casings, respawned lives, and burnt Warthog tires mark the occasion. To be honest, this clan has outlived and outgrown every expectation of the blogger that first raised the banner.
A Clan is the sum of its membership. The Gunslingers have all contributed to fueling a community of gamers that are just starting to demonstrate a measure of longevity. This is their moment to take a bow…
The Artists who create media to tell the story. The Overlords who preside over recruitment. The Forum Moderators who keep the peace in MidWorld. The Challenge Captains who set the table for worthy opponents. The Squad Leaders who enable gamers to embrace their passions – and sharpen them. The Alpha-Geeks who keep the machines running. And let’s not forget the Gamers who deal in lead. They are the ones who keep the promises made on this page. They carry them into the game – that combative place where they are hardest to honor.
They are all the TTL Gunslingers. From Webmaster to Peon. From n00b to MLG. They are one year old. Tip your hat if you pass them on the path. These are the good guys.
To celebrate, I am putting a bounty on all of their heads. You read that right. Our “Gunniversary” is your good fortune. I am challenging the readers of this blog – and anyone in the Halo Community – to a good old Manhunt. I got a buck for anyone who can beat a party of Gunslingers [fair and square] in a ranked gametype of Halo 2 over Xbox Live. Actual winnings are depicted below. Team Slayer. Team SWAT. Big Team Skirmish. Choose your poison. Bring your game strong and clean.
This week, we are making an effort to leave custom games behind. Instead, we are taking a break from Gunslinger-on-Gunslinger violence to form up raiding parties for Matchmaking. Keep an eye out for us. If you can beat us in a Good Game, we will pay homage to you and yours right here on this site. Just let us know you saw us – and that you won – by paying us a visit in MidWorld. Be sure to leave a game link.

Is this like seeking out a needle in a needle-stack? Mayhap. After a year of solid recruitment efforts, however, there are a lot of Gunslingers to be found on the battlefields of the Haloverse. We are only a handful of gamers away from what Xbox Live considers to be Standing Room Only.
Some Gunslingers are easier to spot than others. They are the ones with the TTL prefix before their ‘tag. Don’t make fun of them for that. They’ll take it personal.

I would first like to say that it has been an honor and a privilege to be a part of the TTL Gunslingers! Words cannot express how satisified I am with the TTL community. That being said…..
A manhunt? Are you serious? That is an outstanding twist on things.
Yet another obstacle on our collective path of the beam.
I really love this clan and the community that has grown around it. I wasn’t here in the beginning, so I don’t know to much about the humble beginnings. However, I can say without any doubt that there are no other gamers out there that I would rather have at my side then my fellow Gunslingers.
Congratulations to everyone for making this a home and safe haven from the more unsavory parts of Halo MM and other gaming environments.
We are more than just a gathering of geeks that spend countless hours mashing buttons. We are a living and continually growing entity that wants to have a good game and a good time with friends.
Our interactions come in many ways, whether that is time spent in MM, in the forums, at LANs, etc. All of it is made possible by the contributions of the individuals.
I’m so glad I found this place. It is my home away from home and I’m here to stay.

It’s been a year of fantastic growth and memorable moments. For those who haven’t found a good game, we say sorry. For those who have been drawn through the door to this clan, we say thankya! If one were to look for an example of a healthy game-based community, look no further than the halls of The TTL Gunslingers.

Though new to the Gunslingers, and TTL as a whole, I’ve seen more sportsmanship and comraderie than ever before. I’m proud to be a ‘slinger, and agree with everyone in saying you’re all brothers/sisters to me. Werd.

Frankly I don’t think we have much to worry about. Since joining the Gunslingers I have gone from desperately trying to hang on to my rank while lone wolfing it to winning over 90% of my matchmaking games. I have yet to lose a Big Team Skirmish game. I had always hoped but never knew the game could be this good. I am so very honored and happy to be here with such a good group. And I feel pity for those of you that we find on our path to the tower; because we are Ka-Te; we are one made from many; and because we deal in lead… and business is fantastic!

Congrats to my fellow Gunslingers… I’m happy and humbled to be part of such a great community of gamers.
Have you sent this out to all the clans we’re affiliated with, and all those we’ve fought? It might make this a bigger event if there was a bounty-month, instead of a bounty-week. I read that we’ve had a little over 2,000 unique visits this month… but XBL is huge. Imagine 10,000 readers or more telling their friends—more people gunning for us. Tell them the times, locations, and all that jazz.
Hell, it might even be a grand way to spread the “good game” message.
Now, let’s not get too carried away. I thought this might be a fun way to the spotlight on you people for a change. I am not giving out real money here.
