Feel the rhythm! Feel the rhyme! Get on up, its interview time! COOL RUNNINGS! Well I figured it was only appropriate seeing that this week’s interviewee quoted that movie as well. This week I welcome an awesome person who I admire and respect a lot. By forming the Cavegirls, she has paved the way for women gamers to enjoy a harassment free environment, and have fun with gaming. The Cavegirls have a lot of claims to fame. They played Bungie in a Humpday Challenge, one of them was a finalist in the Frag Doll tryouts, and I also hear they are accomplished karaoke singers… or so I hear. All the fame and serenading aside, they are a great group of women who set an example for mature and enjoyable gaming. I have known a few of them for a while, and they provide one of the most positive gaming environments for other females. So positive that it makes the once pessimistic gamer, plagued by thousands of 12 year old Timmys, become an optimist yet again and enjoy a good game. Cheers Cayote, for forming an amazing group, and for being a great leader. Without any further delay, here are her answers to the 22 Questions.

  • Gamertag: Cayote and AutumnCavegirl
  • Pet Peeve: Bad Drivers, especially tailgaters.
  • Your Best Moment of Triumph: Winning against bungie in a humpday challenge.
  • Game That Was the Biggest Let Down: Betraying my teammates with a rocket while trying to stop a warthog in the second humpday challenge.
  • Closest You Have Come to Death: When I was young I was having a surgery where the doctors lost me for a brief moment. During that surgery I had a dream that angels had made a dress for me. The dress was too big, so I told them I didn’t want it. The doctors concluded that if the dress fit me, I might have died. But who knows.
  • What Are You Better at Than Anyone You Know: I always have the attitude that I can learn something new. But I do have the ability to stay calm in a stressful situation. And I’m better at being myself than anyone I know.
  • Little Known Fact: I am 100% Norwegian.
  • Ideal Business: To have my own coffee shop/bookstore. Hmmmm maybe it would have a gaming room too.
  • First Game That Had You Hooked: Quebert and Kangaroo on the Atari.
  • Mac or PC: PC
  • Song You Are Currently Listening to: “Son Dancer” By Dakota Motor Company
  • Game/System You Are Looking Forward to the Most: Halo 3 Baby!
  • Supernatural Power of Choice: I think flying would be pretty sweet. Commuting that way would be fun too.
  • Most Expensive Thing You Ever Stole: I never stole that car, I swear! I was only borrowing it!
  • Favorite Arcade Game: Frogger or Pac Man.
  • Last Gadget Purchased: Any gadgets I own have been gifts to me. The latest gadget given to me was a personalized Ipod Nano. And I’m still trying to figure it out!
  • Favorite Holiday: 4th of July. Its my favorite time of year, my birthday is 4 days after and I love picnics, air shows and fireworks.
  • Current Trend You Least Understand: Low rider jeans that even plumbers shouldn’t wear.
  • Simon or Garfunkel: I have to choose? I love them both! But I would definitely go with Simon.
  • Historical Figure You Would Reanimate: Helen Keller
  • Dogs, Cats, Birds or Wombats: Cats
  • Movie Quote: “Derice, a gold medal is a wonderful thing. But if you’re not enough without one, you’ll never be enough with one.” -Cool Runnings

———

  • Bryboy Remix asks-If you could be any celebrity you wanted to who would it be: Drew Barrymore! I adore her! She got to dance on Dave Letterman’s desk, played in ET, Charlies Angel’s, Co-stared with Adam Sandler, Whoopi Goldberg and many many other great celebrities. That or Jesse James. ;)

Thank you so much Cayote for the interview. If you haven’t checked out the Cavegirls and are in search of a good challenge or some good friendships then look no further than their den, the Cavegirl Forums . It is always a pleasure ladies. Keep up the great work with setting a positive example for the Halo community. Till next week readers, when I do a little Monster Mashing (since it is Monster Mash Day) with two people in a dual interview. I know, it has never happened before, be afraid.

Eek. That “closest you have come to death answer” made me shiver.

Cayote is an amazing woman who has created such a wonderful group. She is always working hard on stuff for the Cavegirls; it has not let up one second since she formed it almost two years ago. I value her as our fearless leader but more so as a friend.

What is this karaoke you speak of?

    Don’t answer that.

Just something I heard… and maybe saw pictures of, maybe. Although that closest to death story was eerie, it was pretty funny with the simplicity of them making her a dress and her saying she didnt want it because it didn’t fit. I found that funny, does that make me a bad person?

    Don’t answer that.

Hey guys, I’m here now. Good interview…
Cayote definately has one of my favorite groups of people under her command.

Don’t answer that. [No really don’t. There was no question.]

That close to death story was incredible. Thats a dress I don’t ever want to wear…not that I wear dresses or anything. If she ever gets that coffee shop going, Im so there.

Always nice to hear from a fellow crab. Our Birthdays are 6 days apart and there is something about growing up having your parties right at that time every year. And flying would be sweet. As long as it was really fast flying… can you imagine if you could fly… but you could only go as fast as a slow walk. “Look! Up in the sky! It’s a kite… or some sort of weather baloon… no it’s moving to slow to be a weather baloon. It’s probably a kite.”

That is the most awesome nead-death story I’ve ever heard. And people say that NDE’s are nothing moe than the minds reaction to DMT.

I hate to be a bother, but here’s a toast to constructive criticism. I was checking out your old blog at deadmanshandblog.com and then the TTL Gunslingers site and I suddenly realized that the main TTL Blog was harder on the eyes and more difficult to read (in theory) than the other two. After a quick refresh and some sweet Mozilla Firefox tabs to help me investigate I came to you with the results.

    * Deadmanshandblog.com shares the same small font size you use here but has a much higher contrast ratio between the text and background, making it easier to read.

    * Gunslingers.tiedtheleader.com has both a larger context ratio and a larger easier font once again making this page easier and more enjoyable to read.

    * I’d also suggest you add to the letter spacing using your CSS.

I hope this helps, do with these two cents as you will. I could design a page template for you but something tells me you might be able to get that for free from one of your clanmates. If you can’t you know how to reach me.

    Sincerely,
    Pieter a.k.a. Night Rider 7

P.S. I really liked your No Bullets, No Grenades, No Service post.

Thanks Night Rider for the feedback, I always appreciate it, although it may have been better to email it to me. Regardless, I did not design the blog. Glad you like that old post. It was a last minute one that kinda came to me at once. Thanks for the clan match the other night and for the 2 cents.

Its always good to hear about other halo players, especially if there of the opposite sex. Although in my travels on Live, I have only encountered females in combat a few times. And most of them were insulted the second they started talking. Why this happens I have no idea. Maybe little Timmy’s sister pics on him, so he has to take it out on someone else.

I would love to play some games with the Cavegirls. I am sure they will bring the pain and have no problems sticking it to the man. (plasma to the face)

Why does everyone want to fly? It’s so overrated. Can you just imagine all the bug-splatter on your face? Yuck.
